But one person who is a big fan of the 19-year-old’s latest look is fellow star Ellen DeGeneres.
The chat show host, 54, decided to try the funky style out for herself in a bid to show her support for the actress and singer.
With a little help from the magic of Photoshop, Ellen managed to switch her own ash blonde crop of hair with Miley’s for a special digitally altered photo which she posted to Twitter.
The result was a near identical snap to Miley’s in which Ellen has the same grinning expression as she poses for the camera.
Miley has also been using the social networking site to express her love for her new look, incessantly tweeting photos of the peroxide blonde locks which show them at every angle.
